Apsan Jarak-gil & Gosangol Metasequoia Trail 앞산자락길·고산골 메타세쿼이아길
An eight-kilometer, almost-flat forest path that skirts the lower slopes of Apsan without ever climbing to the summit, passing a metasequoia tunnel, fossilized dinosaur footprints, and a barefoot clay-walking section with foot-wash stations. Walk any segment you like — the Gosangol entrance with the metasequoia rows is the most photogenic and takes under an hour as an out-and-back. The trailheads are reachable from Line 1 subway stations plus a short walk or bus hop, making it the easiest real forest walk from downtown Daegu.
Local context
The 'jarak-gil' (foothill path) concept is how locals of all ages use the mountain daily without summiting; regulars actually do the barefoot clay stretch, and weekday mornings are full of neighborhood walkers rather than hikers in gear.
