NadeHanon Crater 하논분화구
Korea's only maar-type volcanic crater, a wide green bowl on the edge of Seogwipo whose floor has been planted with rice for roughly 500 years. Spring water seeping up inside the crater feeds the paddies, making this one of the very few places on Jeju where rice grows at all — a farmed landscape sitting inside a volcano.
Local context
Walk the rim lanes in late afternoon when the paddies catch the light; farmers still work the fields below, and locals debate a long-running plan to restore the crater to wetland, so the rice landscape may not be there forever.
