The 395-meter peak at the center of Yeongdo rewards a two-to-three-hour round trip with a full 360-degree sweep of Busan Harbor Bridge, the southern port, and the open sea — on exceptionally clear days the outline of Japan's Tsushima Island appears on the horizon. Near the top, the Halmae Bawi rock is tied to the island's guardian-grandmother legend, and small offerings still appear at the site.

Trailheads start behind ordinary residential streets, and a gentler dulle-gil loop rings the mountain if you want the forest without the summit push; apart from local hikers you will likely have the ridgeline to yourself.
