A cluster of family restaurants at the entrance to Suncheon Bay Wetland serving jangttungeo-tang, a thick soup of mudskippers caught on the bay's own tidal flats. Walk the wetland boardwalk first, then sit down for a bowl simmered with dried radish greens and ground fish — grilled mudskipper skewers appear on most menus too. The restaurants sit within a few minutes' walk of the wetland ticket gate, so no extra transport is needed.

Local context

Locals treat it as a late-summer-to-autumn stamina food when the fish are fattest; the soup is ground smooth, closer to a hearty chowder than anything visibly fishy, which makes it an easy first try.
