NadeHado Migratory Bird Sanctuary 하도리 철새도래지
Between Hado's carrot fields and the sea lies a shallow brackish lagoon where thousands of ducks, swans, and endangered black-faced spoonbills spend the winter among the reed beds. A flat path skirts the water, so you can birdwatch on foot or by bicycle with no climbing involved. The season peaks roughly from November to February, when the rest of east Jeju is at its quietest.
Local context
This is one of the more reliable places in Korea to see the black-faced spoonbill, a bird serious birders cross Asia for — bring binoculars, since the flocks tend to keep to the far side of the water.
