Sehwa Folk Five-day Market 세화민속오일시장
This market has convened since 1912 on dates ending in 5 and 0, spreading its stalls just across the road from Sehwa's turquoise beach. Haenyeo grandmothers sell the morning's catch alongside carrots from nearby fields, wild herbs, and hot jeon straight off the griddle. It is far smaller than Jeju City's big five-day market, which is exactly why it still feels like it belongs to the neighborhood.
Local context
Come before noon — many of the grandmothers sell out and pack up early, and by mid-afternoon the lot is nearly empty. Double-check the date first: no 5 or 0, no market.
