NadeDarangswi Oreum 다랑쉬오름
Hikers call this the queen of Jeju's volcanic cones for its near-perfect shape and the deep circular crater hidden at the top. The stepped trail is steep but short, about 30 to 40 minutes up, and the rim path loops the crater with views over a plain scattered with dozens of other oreum. Across the road, knee-high Akkeun Darangswi turns silver with eulalia grass in October and November.
Local context
The crater is said to be about as deep as Hallasan's summit lake; nearby Darangswi-gul cave is a somber Jeju 4.3 memorial site, and a marker on the road tells its story.
