Jeju Mokgwana 제주목관아
The restored seat of Joseon-era government on Jeju, a walled compound of administrative halls and gardens rebuilt on its original site in the middle of the old downtown. At its gate stands Gwandeokjeong, a pavilion raised in 1448 and the oldest standing building on the island. The grounds are compact enough to cover in under an hour before heading into the surrounding backstreets.
Local context
Locals use the compound as the starting point of the Seongan Olle walk through the original walled town — most of the old downtown's smaller spots sit within ten minutes on foot from this gate.
