Millak Fishermen's Live Fish Market 민락어민활어직판장

Busan, Seoul · 35.1542, 129.1279

A no-frills cooperative hall on the Millak waterfront where fishing households sell live fish from bubbling tanks and fillet your pick on the spot. Most buyers carry the boxed sashimi out to eat by the sea, or head upstairs to plain dining rooms that supply dipping sauces, side dishes, and rice for a small per-person fee.

Local context

Longtime residents buy their hoe here rather than at touristy Jagalchi; the unwritten system is fish downstairs first, then the second-floor 'chojang' rooms where the per-person fee covers sauces, sides, and a table.
