Sirangdae Rock 시랑대
A rock terrace on the cliff just past Haedong Yonggungsa, reached by a short side path that most temple visitors never notice. Joseon-dynasty officials climbed down here to compose poetry, and their verses are still carved into the stone above the breaking waves. It takes only a few minutes from the temple crowds, yet you will often have the whole ledge to yourself.
Local context
Ask for the path toward Sirangdae on the temple's east side — local anglers use the same route, and people here avoid the lower ledge whenever the swell is high.
