NadeSokcho Municipal Museum & Silhyangmin Culture Village 속초시립박물관·실향민문화촌
An open-air village of reconstructed North Korean houses — Pyongyang, Kaesong and Hwanghae styles — attached to Sokcho's city museum, explaining why so much of the town was built by war refugees from the North. Walk into the full-scale houses to compare regional layouts, then use the indoor halls to trace how a small fishing settlement became a displaced-persons boomtown. It sits inland in Nohak-dong, a short bus or taxi ride from downtown, and makes most sense visited after Abai Maeul raises the question it answers.
Local context
Koreans bring schoolchildren here, but foreign visitors are rare enough that you will likely have the replica houses to yourself. Seeing distinct Pyongyang and Kaesong house types side by side is something even most South Koreans have never done.
