Sorae Wetland Ecological Park 소래습지생태공원

Incheon, Seoul · 37.4124, 126.7474

A vast former salt farm turned free wetland park, where red wooden windmills stand over reed fields, abandoned salt pans, and tidal creeks alive with crabs and wading birds. The trails are wide and flat, made for a long unhurried walk or a bike ride, with a small exhibition hall explaining how sea salt was harvested here into the 1990s. Pair it with the raucous Soraepogu fish market next door and you have a full half-day that feels nowhere near a metropolis.

Local context

Photographers come in autumn when the reeds turn silver and pink saltmarsh plants color the flats; weekday mornings you may share the whole expanse with only herons and a few locals on bikes.
