Gyeongpo Gasiyeon Wetland 경포가시연습지

Gangneung, Seoul · 37.7891, 128.8977

A restored wetland on the inland side of Gyeongpo Lake, where boardwalks wind through reed beds, lotus ponds and shallow channels. The prickly water lily (gasiyeon) it is named for vanished when the marsh was drained for farmland and returned only after restoration, blooming from late July into September; in winter the open water fills with migrating ducks and swans. A small wooden ferry crosses one channel — you pull it along a fixed rope by hand.

Local context

Locals cycle here on the lake loop path from Gyeongpo Beach; guided eco-tours run by the local ecotourism group need advance booking, but the boardwalks are free to wander anytime.
