NadeHeo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park Pine Grove 허균·허난설헌기념공원
A memorial park on the birth site of Heo Nanseolheon, a 16th-century poet celebrated for verse she wrote as a woman in a rigidly Confucian era, and her brother Heo Gyun, author of the classic novel Hong Gildong-jeon. A restored hanok compound and a small exhibition hall with her poems sit inside a grove of tall, wind-bent coastal pines, with gravel paths looping through the trees. It is a short walk from Chodang's tofu restaurants, so it works well as a slow stroll after lunch.

Gangneung people treat this as the walking-off spot after chodang sundubu (soft tofu) from the restaurants a few minutes away; on weekday mornings you often have the entire pine grove to yourself.
