Haneul Garden (Sky Garden) 하늘정원

Incheon, Seoul · 37.4963, 126.5497

A free public garden laid out at the very end of an Incheon Airport runway, where landing jets pass low enough overhead to read the tail logos while you stand among seasonal flower fields and silver grass. Come in the golden hour, when photographers line up planes against the sunset; the roar arriving every few minutes is startling the first time and addictive after. It is a short drive or taxi ride from the airport terminals, which makes it one of the few genuinely worthwhile things to do on a layover with a couple of spare hours.

Local context

Korean aviation photographers treat this as their home turf and can tell you which runway direction is active that day — arrivals only pass overhead when the wind is right, so a quick look at a flight-tracker app before heading out saves disappointment. Spring rapeseed and autumn silver grass are the two peak photo seasons.
