A shallow crescent of sand on Gijang's coast where small fishing skiffs bob offshore and low-key cafes line the promenade instead of beach clubs. The water stays waist-deep far out, so the scene is families wading, anglers on the jetty, and locals walking the arc of the bay.

Local context

Ilgwang Station on the Donghae commuter line is a short walk from the sand, and the beach is the setting of the classic Korean novel and film 'Gaetmaeul' (Seaside Village), which locals still mention with some pride.
