King's Road Forest Trail 왕의길
A shaded valley track over the Suretjae pass follows what tradition holds is the route of King Munmu's funeral procession toward his sea tomb. The walking is mostly flat forest for four to six kilometers one way, ending at Yongyeon Falls, a two-tier cascade dropping into a rock pool, with the old temple of Girimsa — founded before Bulguksa — a short stretch beyond.
Local context
Nearly everyone walks it one way from the Mochagol trailhead down to Girimsa, then catches a local bus from near the temple entrance back toward Gyeongju instead of retracing the trail.
