Micheongol Natural Recreation Forest 미천골자연휴양림

Yangyang, Seoul · 37.9390, 128.5281

A national recreation forest running up a long, deep valley in inland Yangyang, with an easy trail following the stream past clear pools and small cascades. Near the lower valley lie the mossy stone remains of Seollimwon, a 9th-century Silla temple site with a stone pagoda and stele standing quietly in the grass. Walk far enough up the valley and you reach Bulbaragi mineral spring, where naturally carbonated, iron-tinged water fizzes out of the rock.

Local context

The spring is a long walk deep in the valley, so locals treat the full round trip as a half-day outing and bring empty bottles to carry the fizzy water home; cabins inside the forest book out well ahead in summer.
