Sanji Lighthouse 산지등대

Sanji Lighthouse — photo 1

A lighthouse working since 1916 on the slope between Sarabong and Jeju Harbor, its white tower looking straight down onto ferries and breakwaters. The old keeper's quarters now house a small cafe and bookshop run on zero-waste principles, an easy excuse to sit with the view. After dark the horizon fills with the lamps of fishing boats strung across the sea.

Local context

Locals time their visit to dusk to get three views in one: the harbor in daylight, the sunset behind the city, and then the fishing fleet's lights coming on.
