A 148-meter volcanic cone on the eastern edge of downtown Jeju City, climbed daily by neighborhood walkers who use its stair paths as a gym. From the summit pavilion the sunset over the harbor — known as Sabong nakjo — counts among the classical Ten Scenic Views of Yeongju, Jeju's old poetic name. The climb takes about twenty minutes at a stroll.

Local context

Olle Route 18 runs over the cone, and since it sits minutes from the old downtown, islanders use it as a quick evening walk rather than an excursion — visitors chasing Seongsan sunrise rarely learn the city has its own oreum.
