Songjiho Beach Surf Zone (Oho-ri) 송지호해변 서핑 (오호리)

Sokcho, Seoul · 38.3274, 128.5268

A long, pine-backed stretch of clear, shallow water in Goseong county where a cluster of small surf schools rent boards and wetsuits right off the sand. Book a morning beginner lesson at one of the shops in Oho-ri village, then spend the afternoon paddling out on your own — the gentle beach break and waist-deep water forgive mistakes. It sits about 30 minutes north of Sokcho by bus or car, far enough that the Yangyang surf crowds never make it here.

Local context

Korean surfers treat this as the quiet alternative to Yangyang's packed lineups; on weekdays outside July-August you can have entire peaks to yourself. Several schools hold ISA instructor certifications and some attach guesthouses, so locals often come for overnight surf-and-stay packages.
