A 10.7-kilometer pine-shaded loop around a lagoon that a sand spit separates from the East Sea, with a free observation tower overlooking the water. Borrow one of the free bicycles at the trailhead (available roughly March to November) and circle the lake in about an hour, or walk a shorter out-and-back along the western shore. The loop connects on foot to Wanggok Hanok Village and Songjiho Beach, so it slots neatly into a half-day Goseong plan.

Local context

In winter the lagoon becomes a stopover for migrating swans and geese, which is when local birders bring scopes to the tower; almost no foreign visitors know this. The free bike rental is first-come, so weekend mornings go fast.
