Ilwol Arboretum & Ilwol Reservoir 일월수목원과 일월저수지

Suwon, Seoul · 37.2884, 126.9767

A modern arboretum opened in 2023 beside a reed-fringed reservoir in northern Suwon, with themed gardens, a glasshouse, and a roughly 1.5-kilometer lakeside loop shaded by a metasequoia lane. Do the gardens first, then circle the reservoir, where wintering ducks gather on the water from late autumn. It closes Mondays and charges a small adult entry fee for the arboretum, while the reservoir path stays free; the area is about fifteen minutes from Hwaseo Station.

Local context

Because it is so new, almost no foreign-language information exists — visitors are nearly all neighborhood families and retirees on morning walks. Spring weekends fill fast with local stroller traffic, so weekday mornings are the quiet window.
