Daebul Hotel Exhibition Hall 대불호텔전시관

Incheon, Seoul · 37.4736, 126.6200

A reconstruction of Korea's first Western-style hotel, opened in 1888 to house the sailors and missionaries who stepped off ships at Jemulpo port. Inside you walk through recreated Victorian-era guest rooms and a small exhibit on how the first foreign visitors experienced Korea, all for about 1,000 won. It sits one block into the open-port backstreets, a couple of minutes on foot from Chinatown's main gate, so it slots easily into a walk through the district.

Local context

Locals treat it as part of a three-stop history loop with the Jemulpo Club and the concession boundary stairs; weekday mornings you often have the rooms to yourself. The upper floor doubles as a small museum on Incheon's modern-era daily life, which many visitors miss.
