Jemulpo Club 제물포구락부

Incheon, Seoul · 37.4746, 126.6225

A social club built in 1901 by Incheon's American, British and German residents, now restored as a free cultural salon on the wooded slope of Jayu Park. You can sit in the period-furnished hall where the port's foreign community once played billiards and traded news, and catch small exhibitions or occasional evening concerts. It is a short uphill walk from the open-port district, so pair it with the concession-era streets below rather than making a separate trip.

Local context

Locals use it as a quiet reading-and-coffee stop rather than a museum, and the staff will often play a short film about the club's history if you ask. It stays uncrowded even on weekends when Chinatown below is packed.
