Every July the lake at this park disappears under lotus leaves and pink blooms, a scene locals count among Jeonju's classic 'eight views.' A hanok-style public library named Yeonhwajeong sits out on the water and glows after sunset, and on Friday and Saturday nights the park adds light and media-art displays. It lies north of the tourist circuit, so the crowd is mostly Jeonju families.

Local context

Lotus flowers open in the morning and begin closing by early afternoon, so locals come before lunch in July; the suspension bridge across the pond is the standard photo spot.
