Jeonju Hanok Village 전주한옥마을
Around 700 traditional houses with swooping tiled roofs fill this district, the largest concentration of hanok in any Korean city center. By day the lanes are busy with hanbok rental shops, tea houses and street food; after dinner the neighborhood empties and turns quiet. Nearly everything else worth seeing in Jeonju lies within a fifteen-minute walk of its edges.
Local context
Locals come before 10 am or after sunset when tour groups thin out — and the places they actually rate, like Jaman village, Seohakdong and Gaekridan-gil, are each just one bridge or footbridge beyond the village boundary.
