The seat of the Joseon governor who administered the whole Jeolla region and Jeju Island, reconstructed on its original downtown site and opened in 2020. Entry is free, and the compound — including the main hall Seonhwadang — can be walked in about half an hour without the crowds that fill nearby Gyeonggijeon. Nambu Market and the Gaeksa-gil cafe streets are each a few minutes away on foot.

Locals treat the courtyard as a shortcut and a bench stop between Gaeksa-gil and Nambu Market, which keeps the mood unhurried even on weekends; occasional traditional music performances take over the yard on weekend afternoons.
