Gaekridan-gil 객리단길

Jeonju, Seoul · 35.8199, 127.1444

When redevelopment plans for this faded downtown grid fell through, young Jeonju owners moved into the cheap storefronts, and craft-beer bars, bakeries and vintage shops now sit between decades-old print shops and corner supermarkets. The mix was never smoothed over for tourists — this is where the city's twenty-somethings actually spend their evenings, ten minutes on foot from the hanok village.

Local context

The name riffs on Seoul's Gyeongnidan-gil, attached to the streets behind the old Gaeksa royal guesthouse; most shops open late morning, and the strip is livelier at night than at noon.
