Jeonju Dokkaebi Market 전주 도깨비시장

Jeonju, Seoul · 35.8115, 127.1462

Between about 4 and 7 in the morning, farmers and foragers spread vegetables, herbs and seafood along the streamside lanes near Nambu Market, and restaurant owners arrive with carts to buy the day's ingredients. By breakfast every trace has been packed away — the name means 'goblin market' because it appears and vanishes like one.

Local context

Pair it with an early walk along the Jeonjucheon stream; most sellers are elderly farmers from nearby counties offering whatever they harvested or foraged the day before.
