Gonggi Village Cypress Forest 공기마을 편백나무숲
Around 100,000 hinoki cypress trees planted in 1976 blanket the hillside behind Gonggi village, a 15-minute drive from Jeonju Hanok Village. Looping trails of one to two hours bring you back to the trailhead under a dense, resin-scented canopy, and both entry and parking are free. Signage is Korean-only, so note the map board at the entrance.
Local context
This is where Jeonju locals go to cool off in summer — the canopy keeps the trails noticeably cooler than the city — so weekdays are the quiet window. Photographing the entrance map before heading up saves guesswork at unsigned junctions.
