A traditional archery range on the very drill ground where King Jeongjo's royal guard once trained, beside Changnyongmun Gate on the Hwaseong Fortress wall. For around 2,000 won you shoot ten arrows with a Korean recurve bow after a short lesson, with sessions running roughly every half hour from mid-morning. Come in the late afternoon so you can shoot, then linger on the lawn as the fortress wall lights up and local families fly LED kites against it.

Local context

The evening lawn scene between Yeonmudae and Changnyongmun — picnic mats, kites, convenience-store beer under the floodlit wall — is a local ritual that most fortress day-trippers never see.
