NadeYonggye Ginkgo Tree 안동 용계리 은행나무
A ginkgo roughly 700 years old and among the bulkiest trees in Korea, standing on a raised earthen island beside Imha Lake. When the new dam threatened to submerge it in the early 1990s, engineers spent about four years lifting the entire tree 15 meters and replanting it on the spot — one of the largest tree-moving operations ever carried out. It is protected as Natural Monument No. 175 and turns solid gold in early November.

Locals check leaf reports and aim for the first week of November — the full-gold window lasts barely ten days. Outside that stretch you may be the only visitor, sharing the lakeside quiet with herons.
